“I Tried to Save Them”
All my life,
I tried to save the drowning hearts of others—
to pull them from their storms,
even when I could barely breathe myself.
I gave them my hands,
my warmth, my light,
but they did not want salvation—
they only wanted to stay broken.
And the more I reached,
the more I sank.
Until one day,
I looked at my reflection
and saw the ruins of my own soul.
That day I learned—
you cannot heal those
who love their wounds more than freedom.
Now I rise,
not as a savior,
but as the one finally saved.
For to rescue others,
I must first rescue me.
